Teachers reveal negative impact of remote learning on soft skills of teenagers

Education has been facing different challenges during the last two years. The pandemic has taught us to be more flexible, it has brought remote learning and neverending challenges. Now, when it seems we are coming back to normal life, schools are trying to get some feedback on the process of education during the previous months.

Analyzing results of many tools such as  observation, testing or questionnaires, we have come to a really interesting ending. Remote learning might be effective if it is well planned and practiced and it was not the worst thing considering education. It did not cause such damages in terms of professional skills as in terms of key and soft skills. Whilst digital skills have been enhanced, many teachers report lack of creativity, critical thinking, bad communication or even self-discipline. Students have difficulties working in teams, they often face conflicts and cannot solve their problems. This is a fact that we see at schools these times.

The same teachers will agree that it will be necessary to pay attention to soft skills development in the coming weeks and months. There are many methods and ways to focus on soft skills but it is difficult to find an attractive, useful and innovative one. The ENTOS methodology meets all these qualities and our students and teachers cannot wait to test it.

Our ENTOS project has brought a special, unexpected added value. It reflects actual needs of the labour market and education marked with the pandemic situation. This is a sign of the timelessness of our project.
